What is Axiom Bible?

Axiom Bible is a free, distraction-free Bible reader for iPhone and iPad. No social feeds, no curated content, no account, no ads, and no tracking. Just Scripture and a few tools that actually help you study it.

Which translations are included?

Seven are bundled and ready offline: KJV, ASV, BBE, BSB, Darby, WEB, and YLT, with more on the way. Switch between them instantly while reading or searching.

How does search work?

Type a reference like “John 3:16” or “II Corinthians 3” to jump straight there, or type a keyword to search the whole Bible with your term highlighted. You can filter results by Old or New Testament, or search only within your favorites.

What is the Matthew Henry commentary?

Tap and hold any verse to open the matching entry from Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary, a trusted public-domain resource. Nearly 4,000 entries ship inside the app, so it works offline.

What is Historical Context?

For passages where you want background, Axiom can generate historical context using Apple Intelligence. It runs entirely on your device, so nothing leaves your phone, and you can adjust the length and tone. This feature needs compatible Apple hardware and iOS 26 or later.

How do favorites and syncing work?

Swipe to save single verses, ranges, or whole chapters. With iCloud enabled, your favorites and settings sync across your Apple devices through your own private iCloud. Sign in to the same Apple Account on each device and they appear everywhere. They are also indexed in Spotlight so you can find them from your Home Screen.

Is my data private?

Yes. Axiom collects nothing and keeps your data on your device (and in your private iCloud if you enable sync). See the Privacy Policy .

Does it have widgets, Siri, and Shortcuts?

Yes. Add a Scripture of the Day widget to your Home Screen, ask Siri to look up a verse or open your favorites, and build your own automations with Shortcuts.

What does it cost?

Axiom Bible is free to download and use. If you would like to support its development, you can leave a tip .

Which devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad. The on-device historical-context feature additionally requires iOS 26 or later and compatible Apple hardware.
